Frequently Asked Questions

What does non-exclusive mean?

A non-exclusive license means you can use the beat, but so can other artists. The beat remains in the catalog and can be licensed to multiple buyers.

What is master revenue?

Master revenue refers to all income generated from a master recording — the final recorded version of a song. This includes earnings from streaming platforms, digital downloads, physical sales, synchronization placements (TV, film, ads), and any other form of monetization tied to the recording itself.

What are publishing rights?

Publishing rights relate to the ownership and control of a musical composition — the underlying melody, lyrics, and arrangement. These rights determine who earns royalties when a song is performed publicly, streamed, broadcast, or reproduced. Publishing royalties are separate from master revenue and are collected through performing rights organizations (PROs) and publishers.

Do I need to credit the producer?

Yes, for all licenses including exclusive rights. Credit must be given as "YoungKio" in writing where possible, including production credits on all DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). Failure to credit constitutes a breach of the agreement.

What file formats do I receive?

Standard Lease includes MP3 only. Premium Lease includes MP3 and WAV. Trackouts & Stems and Exclusive Rights include MP3, WAV, and individual stem files for full mixing control. Note: the producer tag is not included in stem packages.

How long does the license last?

All non-exclusive licenses have a term of 10 years from the date of purchase. Exclusive licenses have negotiable terms.

Can I get a refund?

All licenses are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please review the license terms and listen to beat previews carefully before purchasing.

How do I get an exclusive license?

Exclusive rights are negotiated separately. Contact us at contact@youngkio.com to discuss pricing, ownership terms, and any custom arrangements.
